Introducing Ink & Advocacy: Where Legal Writing Meets Purposeful Growth

Welcome to Ink & Advocacy, a space where legal writing, mentorship, and career development converge with clarity, purpose, and heart.

I created Ink & Advocacy to serve a need I have seen repeatedly across the legal profession: Smart, capable lawyers—especially those early in their careers—often lack the structured support, thoughtful feedback, and strategic coaching necessary to grow into confident, persuasive advocates.

This platform was born from my desire to meet that need through writing coaching, career strategy, and individualized support grounded in both legal experience and mentorship.

Who I Am

My name is Gabriel Hindin, and I have spent the past 14+ years as a litigator in the federal government, working on complex administrative, employment, and regulatory matters. I have clerked for both state and federal judges. I have briefed high-stakes cases. I have mentored new attorneys and have trained them on legal writing strategy.

And now, I am honored to begin a new chapter as an Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills at Howard University School of Law, where I will be teaching legal reasoning, research, writing, and advocacy to the next generation of lawyers.

But long before I became an attorney, I spent nearly a decade in education. I worked at the Harlem Children’s Zone, where I led after-school and college-prep programs for students from underserved communities. That early chapter has shaped everything I do. It taught me that talent needs structure, support, and encouragement to thrive.

What Ink & Advocacy Offers

Ink & Advocacy offers two core services, each of which are grounded in my experience as a litigator and educator:

1. Legal Writing Services

I provide high-quality legal content for:

  • Solo practitioners and small firms

  • Legal publications and blogs

  • Advocacy organizations and nonprofits

This includes:

  • Editing and drafting briefs, motions, and memoranda

  • Website content and thought leadership articles

  • Tailored legal writing coaching

2. Legal & Career Coaching

I help law students, junior attorneys, and first-generation professionals:

  • Refine their legal writing and analysis

  • Navigate early career transitions

  • Build confidence in professional communication

  • Prepare for clerkships, interviews, or challenging assignments

Why I Started This Work

I know what it feels like to second-guess your writing. To wonder whether your argument is clear enough. To question your voice in a profession that does not always reward reflection or authenticity.

I also know the transformative impact of having someone believe in you, edit your work with care, and help you sharpen your thinking. That is what I aim to do with Ink & Advocacy, through coaching, writing services, and strategic support.

Who This Is For

Ink & Advocacy is for:

  1. Law students seeking feedback and guidance beyond what they receive in class

  2. Junior attorneys who want to improve their writing, structure their career path, or communicate with more authority

  3. First-generation professionals navigating legal spaces who do not necessarily have a built-in network

  4. - Small firms and solo lawyers who need crisp, persuasive content to serve their clients

If that is you I would love to connect.
